This sequestrum was removed from the leg of an individual who was shot 6 months earlier during the Civil War. It measures about 6 inches in length. From National Museum of Health and Medicine. PA011 Calvarium with Trephination $189.00 This Civil War soldier was shot on September 17, 1862. The doctors performed a trephination on October 11, 1862, and he died the same day. Längs vägen träffade jag Dr. Diane France och fick möjligheten att arbeta med henne i ett fall och så småningom arbeta för henne i den här branschen när jag avslutade min examen och tittade på doktorandprogram i hela USA. När min "urspårning" var i ett tidigt skede frågade Diane om mina önskemål att ta över hennes verksamhet. Det var ett svårt beslut att fatta eftersom det innebar att ge upp några av mina drömmar i utbyte mot andra som jag aldrig hade tänkt på. Efter mycket reflektion och diskussioner med min bättre hälft insåg jag att den här verksamheten har många förmåner, och jag tror att den passar mig av flera skäl. För det första handlar det om två av mina största kärlekar: allt som är osteologiskt, och den kreativitet och konstnärskap som krävs för att göra ett mästerverk, och ja, det vi gör är mästerverk. För det andra innebar det att stanna i Colorado, en plats jag har kommit att älska. För det tredje uppfyllde det ett av mina livsmål att inte bara vara en annan "vad som helst" [fyll i en lämplig jobbtitel här], utan gav mig möjligheten att jag alltid har försökt göra något annorlunda; att utmärka sig i något en miljon andra människor inte gör.
